Nelsan Ellis

Nelsan Ellis ( born November 30, 1977 in Harvey, Illinois ) is an American actor.

Life

Ellis was born in Harvey, Illinois. After his parents divorced, he moved with his mother to Alabama. In his youth, he returned to Illinois and made in 1997 graduated from Thornridge High School in Dolton. He attended the Juilliard School in New York City. During his time at Julliard, he wrote a play titled Ugly, which also listed there and for which he was awarded the Lincoln Center 's Martin E. Segal Award.

He had in 2002 in Lost His first film role. In 2005, he starred in the film Warm Springs alongside Kenneth Branagh and Kathy Bates. This was followed by guest appearances on Without a Trace - Without a Trace and Veronica Mars, and other small film roles. His breakthrough came with the television series True Blood, for which he was in 2008 for Best Supporting Actor won a Satellite Award.
