Warm Springs (Film)

Warm Springs is an American television movie from the year 2005. The drama, directed by Joseph Sargent is devoted to the handling of the later U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt ( 1882-1945) with his then considered polio suffering.

Action

1921, a year after his unsuccessful candidature for the office of U.S. Vice-President, the politician Franklin D. Roosevelt contracted poliomyelitis. Drawn by paralysis, Roosevelt pulls - after unsuccessful trials of other healing methods and first reluctant - in the spa town of Warm Springs, Georgia, where he is soon exposed to the pressure of his family, to seek his political career. In 1926 he takes this up again and in 1928 he holds the nomination speech for the presidential candidate Alfred E. Smith.

Locations

In addition to various other places in the U.S. state of Georgia, large parts of the film were shot in Warm Springs. Here you attacked inter alia on a specially equipped vehicle back, where the sick Roosevelt drove his time, and also use to his country house.
