Neon (Lonely People)

Neon (Lonely People) is the title of an English pop song from the 2012 released album Stardust of the German singer Lena. It was published on 15 March 2013 as the total of their sixth single in a newly abgemischen single mix.

Background

Neon (Lonely People) was written by Lena Meyer- Landrut in collaboration with the British singer- songwriters Mathew Benbrook and Pauline Taylor, who had previously worked already with Paolo Nutini, Dido and Faithless. Producer of the song is Swen Meyer.

This song was released as the second single from Lena's third album Stardust. Neon (Lonely People) was released as a remixed single version, responsible for the Cologne-based producer Jochen Naaf records. Naaf has collaborated with other German artists such as Klee and the Arctic Circle 18, as well as international artists such as Lady Gaga. The radio premiere of the single version on February 18. On 22 February, the album Stardust appeared in a new edition that no longer contained the previous album version, but already the new single mix, on different download sites.

In an interview with the record company Universal Lena explained the origin of the song:

"I think everyone knows this feeling when you feel lonely, even though many people are totally around you. At night in a club for example. When one occurs, the whole world so full and yet so empty. But then you a certain man on the way and all of a sudden run on the dance floor she is gone, the loneliness. That's the point in neon. Everything is good when the music is concerned. Or something like that. "

Neon (Lonely People) first appeared on Lena's third studio album Stardust on October 12, 2012 at fourth in the track list. On the digital remix EP was released on iTunes an exclusive remix that comes from Yoad Nevo - a British producer who already anfertigte remixes for the Pet Shop Boys and Moby.

Live performances

Lena was the first song in an acoustic version July 30, 2012 during a music performance in front of representatives of the press in Munich. The first live performance in front of a large crowd was on February 14, 2013 in Hanover during the German Commission for contribution to Euro Vision Song Contest.

Cover design

The cover to neon (Lonely People) was photographed by Sandra Ludewig and designed by the Berlin firm Eat, Sleep Design. It is a purple -colored portrait of the singer. Her hair is fastened to the back of the head, and she looks to the left of the screen. To my eyes she is wearing sparkly make-up.

Music Video

The music video for Neon (Lonely People) was founded in early February 2013 shot in the Berlin Rathenau halls. Director was again Brodmüller Bode, who was responsible for the music video for previous single Stardust. The video premiere took place on March 1.

Chart positions

Neon ( Lonely People ) rose in the first week at No. 38 in the German single charts. The second week the song fell to number 50, then at number 69 after a fourth week at No. 96, the song left the German Top 100
