But here everything was right really: the text is beautiful. The melody is great. [ ... ] You have to actually tear on the spot his arms in the air and they hippieesk swing around the area while listening. Whether you want to or not. So when listening in the subway please a bit to take care of your neighbor. " Musically Lena describes the song as a mix of Michael Jackson and the Kelly Family.

Stardust is a three minute and thirty seconds, pop song. It follows the standard structure of a pop song, which is applied in the form of verse- chorus-verse -chorus- bridge -chorus, with Stardust begins with a brief instrumental intro. Critics votes

Critics were very taken with the song and praised it as a highlight of the album.

  • "The big hit of the album is undoubtedly the first single release, Stardust, in which Lena's small voice lost in the vastness of the soundscape and decorated the strong, percussion -heavy melody and distorted. In the particularly strong moments of the song can be heard by Lena just an " Ooh- oh-oh -oh- oh-oh -ooh ," which is not a criticism of Lenas Sangeswerk, but a praise of the composition. " ( Maximilian Kloes, focus. en)
  • " Stardust sounds like international pop, which is not entirely without claim, but still loose and fluffy sounds like breakfast in bed. The title track, for example, properly managed, with its stoic drums and the whole strumming. " ( Kevin Holtmann, plattentests.de )
  • " The hit density on Lena's third album [ has ] felt in favor of more sophisticated compositions eased somewhat, although the first single ( Stardust ) is quite fast in his ear. " (Matthias Reichel, cdstarts.de )

Music Video

The music video was made in August 2012 in the Spanish semi-desert Bardenas. It was released on September 7, 2012. Directed by Bode Brodmüller from Künster collective Hobrecht Animals, who had previously worked with Joy Dena Lane, Max Herre and Jan Delay.

The music news site musikmarkt.de wrote to the video: In the video to Stardust Lena shows beginning with its covered by glitter face. Then Lena wanders through environments that are reminiscent of various vegetation zones of the African desert. Several times Lena is accompanied by a choir in Stardust, which - in contrast to the protagonist - covered with mud, obviously represents a group of primeval desert dwellers. At one point in the video [ ..] you can see that group when climbing a small mountain. On the next screen followed by a desert panorama, which now shows a monkey in climbing that mountain. The link between ape and man puts the thought suggesting that Lena alludes to the song called " Stardust " on topics such as evolution or creation, including the Stardust, the origin of the elements. Various scenes [ ... ] show Lena also enveloped in a cloud of steam. Many a time Lena lolls in Stardust on the desert floor or a bed on which she [ ... ] asleep at the end of the video.

On March 21, 2013, the video was awarded the Echo music award.
