New Albin is a small town ( with a status of "City" ) in Allamakee County in the far northeast of the U.S. state of Iowa. In the census in 2010, New Albin had 522 inhabitants.

Location and transport

New Albin is located at 43 ° 29'49 " north latitude and 91 ° 17'14 " west longitude and covers 0.6 km ², which consist exclusively of land area. New Albin is the most extreme, in the north east of Iowa City and situated on the west bank of the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Wisconsin. The northern outskirts of the village is also the border with Minnesota.

Neighboring towns are Reno in Minnesota (12,2 km to the north), Eitzen (16,2 km to the west ) and Lansing (18,4 km south). The place Victory on the opposite bank of the Mississippi is accessible by road only through a detour of 33.4 km over Lansing.
