Newcastle Airport (IATA: NCL, ICAO: EGNT; former Woolsington ) is an international airport in Newcastle upon Tyne (England, UK ).
As part of a public-private partnership, the operating company at Copenhagen Airport is a 49% stake, in addition to 11 local councils which hold 51%.
Location and Transport
The airport is located about 9 km north- west of the center of Newcastle in the community Woolsington. It is connected via the A696 to the A1 highway. In addition to several bus services to the airport is also accessible via the Green Line of the Tyne and Wear Metro to the city since 1991.
Airlines and destinations
Newcastle Airport has connections to many national and European cities destinations such as London, Belfast, Paris, Copenhagen and Barcelona as well as holiday destinations such as Alicante, Malta and Rhodes. Most of them are offered by easyJet, Jet2.com, Thomas Cook and Thomson Airways. The only long-distance service currently operates Thomas Cook to Orlando in Florida, only German goal is Dusseldorf with Lufthansa.
