Visual observation

Although the brightness of NGC 1535 is enough for an observation in a small telescope from about 70 mm from opening, there is one, but only find a faint stellar object. In a larger telescope from about 6 " opening NGC 1535 is already very noticeable. 12th mag central star is but even with 10" a little hard to watch opening a successful observation requires a correspondingly good seeing.
