NGC 1553

NGC 1553 is a lenticular galaxy in the constellation swordfish. NGC 1553 has an apparent magnitude of 9.0 mag and an angular extent of 5.2 × 3.2 arcmin. The galaxy was discovered on December 5, 1834 by the British astronomer John Frederick William Herschel.
