NGC 1818

NGC 1818 is the name of a globular cluster associated with the Large Magellanic Cloud in the constellation swordfish. NGC 1818 has a diameter of 3.4 " and an apparent magnitude of 9.7 mag. This globular cluster is probably only 40 million years old, in contrast to most globular clusters of the Milky Way, which are often more than 10 billion years old. He is one of the blue globular clusters. NGC 1818 was discovered on August 3, 1826 by the Scottish astronomer James Dunlop.
