NGC 21

NGC 21 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Andromeda.

Discovery

The galaxy NGC 21 was discovered on 26 November 1790 by the German - British astronomer William Herschel. Even Lewis A. Swift observed this galaxy on 20 September 1885 double observation, however, was not recognized, and so the object received two catalog numbers. NGC 21 ( Swift) and NGC 29 ( Herschel ).
