NGC 3226

NGC 3226 is the name of an elliptical galaxy in the constellation Leo. NGC 3226 is in interaction with the larger barred spiral galaxy NGC 3227 and is cataloged as Arp 94 with this together and spar 187. NGC 3226 is a member of the NGC 3227 group, which in turn belongs to the Leo - II groups.

NGC 3226 was discovered on 15 February 1784 by the German - British astronomer William Herschel.
