NGC 3227

NGC 3227 is the name of a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Leo. NGC 3227 has an interactive relationship with the elliptical galaxy NGC 3226 and is cataloged as Arp 94 with this together and spar 187.

NGC 3227 was discovered on 15 February 1784 by the German - British astronomer William Herschel. Herschel realized already that NGC 3227 is a double nebula NGC 3226.
