Nick Kuiper

Nick Kuiper (front, 2007)

Nick Kuiper ( born February 12, 1982 in Beaconsfield, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player with Dutch roots, which has a contract with HC Alleghe in the Italian Serie A1 since summer 2012.

Career

Nick Kuiper began his career as a hockey player in the team of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he was active from 2000 to 2004 in the Hockey East. He then received his first professional contract with the Norfolk Admirals, where he ran aground in the following two seasons in the American Hockey League. The 2006/07 season spent the defender with the Manitoba Moose, Portland Pirates and Springfield Falcons in the AHL and the Augusta Lynx and Johnstown Chiefs in the ECHL. Since he was able to prevail permanently in any of the AHL teams, he joined the following season to Ässät Pori in the Finnish SM- liiga, the 2007/08 season ended, however, when Luleå HF in the Swedish Elitserien.

In summer 2008, Kuiper was obliged by EC Graz 99ers of the Austrian Hockey League, for whom he played until 2011. The 2011/12 season he spent with the Belfast Giants, before joining in the summer of 2012 in the Italian Serie A1 for HC Alleghe.
