Nidularia

Stuffed full nestling ( Nidularia deformis )

The nestlings ( Nidularia ) is a fungal genus of the family of mushroom relatives. The genus belongs to the group of abdominal mushrooms.

Features

The small fruiting body is initially saccular - spherically shaped, recently opened a shell. He has no occlusive membrane ( Epiphragma. The shell ( peridium ) thick, composed of a layer and cinnamon creme- up. At maturity it breaks with an irregular gap on. Spores packages ( peridioles ) are plentiful. At maturity they are brown. you are not a Mycelstrang ( funiculus ) to the peridium.

The spores are ellipsoidal shaped, smooth, hyaline and thick-walled. The envelope ( peridium ) consists of thick-walled hyphae thorny. The hyphal septa have no buckles. The basidia are schlankkeulig two to viersporig and have no Basalschnalle on. Cystidia are absent.

Species delimitation

The crucibles Expensive Linge ( Crucibulum ) and the Expensive Linge ( Cyathus ) have peridioles with funiculus. Mycocalia has a white peridia constructed from normal, thorny hyphae. The fruiting bodies are also much smaller. As they are often less than 1 mm, a part of the species in principle not limited to the United fungi.

Ecology

The nestlings grow as Saprobionten on lying on the ground damp branches and pieces of wood, including stumps and lying on the ground stems of deciduous and coniferous trees. Often they sit there seemingly directly on the floor.

Systematics and species

The nestlings were formerly the nestling relatives ( Nidulariaceae ) within the now also obsolete order of the nestling -like ( Nidulariales ). The genera contained therein are now counted among the mushroom relatives. The genus includes Europe, North America and Australia to 3 species of which in Europe only the Vollgestopfte nestling ( Nidularia deformis ) occurs.
