Geography

Neighboring communities

In the southwest of the town of the county town of Meissen borders, counter-clockwise to close the churches Weinbohla, Moritzburg, Ebersbach, Priestewitz and Diera- Zehren to. Southeast close succession to the cities Coswig, Radebeul and Dresden.

Traffic

The Niederau railway station is the second oldest (since 15 April 1842) railway station building in Germany and has long been the oldest operating station building in Germany. It belongs to the Leipzig -Dresden railway line that led here until 1933 by the 513 m long tunnel Oberauer. From Niederau station there are regular trains to Dresden, Riesa and Leipzig. Through the village leads the state road 80, the Meissen and Weinbohla together. There is a regular bus service to these two places. Dresden Airport is the state highway 81, which runs through the municipality also accessible.
