Geography and transport

The municipality is located on the northwestern edge of the Lommatzscher care. The neighboring towns are Oschatz (15 km ) Meissen (23 km), chub (23 km), and Riesa (10 km). The B 6 ( in the north) and the B 169 ( in North-South direction ), and the railway line Riesa- Chemnitz run through the municipality. Through the village, the river flows Jahna. Stauchitz is located on Jahnatal Bicycle Trail.

History

This district is mentioned in 1226, first documented as a manor Blosewitz. The name comes from the Slavic locator Bloz.

  • Dobernitz

The place is mentioned in 1334 under the name Dodranwicz. The name comes from the Altsorbischen and means as much as Good place ', derived from dobry = good.

  • Dösitz

The village is mentioned in 1261 as Teskuiz. The name comes from the Slavic locator Utesk. The area is inhabited since time immemorial but of which testifies to the discovery of Neolithic Corded Ware.

  • Gleina

In Gleina as Glynen is since 1296 a manor house occupied. The name can be derived from altsorbischen glina = clay.

  • Groptitz

Groptitz is mentioned in 1323 as Gruptiz, derived from the locator Grubota.

  • Grubnitz

The place is mentioned in 1320 as Grobanuwicz. The name was derived from the name Gruban. Near Grubnitz a Germanic settlement in Jahnatal was discovered. In 1350, the village is also mentioned as a manor.

  • Hahnemann field

Hahnemann field was first mentioned as Hanvelt, was mentioned in 1296 as a manor house.

  • Ibanitz

Plotitz was created as a round square village on the slopes of Mehltheuer creek. Even before the year 1190 there was a mansion here. The place name probably derived from altsorbischen Bloto = swamp.

First mentioned in 1266 as Roguiz and since the year 1287 mansion.

  • Seerhausen

The name could be Slavic origin, from Slavic name of the plant or Zerucha Zerus = coward, cress, field flower. Speaking against German word ending -sen so that the place name of its first owner probably originated (one from the old family of Seer ). Originally built as " water-resistant " at the Jahna castle was blown up in 1949.

  • Staucha

In 1259 Staucha first mentioned as Stuchowe. Since the first third of the 13th century to the early 14th century there were in Staucha a nunnery. By dividing the resort was top diving. This division 1751 was reversed.

  • Stauchitz

Stauchitz is mentioned in the year 1428 as Stwchewicz. Even before that but are named for this area some feudal lords. Also Bronze Age and Slavic settlement remains of Slavic castle Gana were found. The castle was demolished in 1949.

Menhir of Steudten

South-east of the district Steudten stands on a hill above Huth evil in 218 m above sea level. NN a menhir. It can be reached via a dirt road that branches off about 300 meters south of Steudten of the Zschochauer road to the east. From an applied on the hill rest area a trail leads through a thicket directly to the menhir. The 1.85 m high porphyrne stone stands on a grave mound. The menhir marks the border of the districts of Meißen and Central Saxony. The name Huth evil suggests that were held in the Middle Ages dishes.
