Niederwald
Niederwald (Walliser German: Niderwaud ) is a Munizipalgemeinde in the district of Goms in the State of Valais in Switzerland.
The famous César Ritz, the founder of the Nobel hotel " Ritz ", is born in 1850 in Niederwald. In 1898 he was able to open the Ritz Hotel in Paris was the first of its luxury hotels. Later, the Ritz Hotel in London and other hotels followed in other cities. With his wife and son he has found in Niederwald his final resting place.
Worth seeing are the parish church of St. Theodule from 1666 and the village square with the Caesar Ritz Fountain.
