Nikki Haley

Nimrata "Nikki" Randhawa Haley ( born January 20, 1972 in Bamberg, South Carolina) is an American politician ( Republican). In the gubernatorial election in 2010, she was elected the first female governor of South Carolina; this office she went to on January 12, 2011. This makes it the first governor with non-white ancestry in South Carolina. They also broke Bobby Jindal of Louisiana from a recent governor of all 50 U.S. states.

Life

Nikki Haley was born to Indian immigrants. Her parents were the first Indian immigrants in her hometown of Bamberg (South Carolina) and belonged to the religious community of the Sikhs. Her father was a professor of biology, her mother founded a clothing store. Nikki Haley is a Methodist today.

She helped her mother in their business; the age of 13 she began to take care of the bookkeeping. She studied accounting at Clemson University and then worked in a company in North Carolina, before she returned to the business of their mother and there took over the management of the finance department. It built with her mother from the business to a company with millions of sales.

Policy

Haley was elected to the House of Representatives from South Carolina in 2004. Here they stood up to the too of the Republican Party are members Larry Koon. In 2006 she was re-elected.

Ahead of the gubernatorial election in 2010, she sat down first in 2009 in the internal party primaries against three prominent Republicans by. She is one of the candidates who were supported by Sarah Palin, Mama Grizzlies are expected to and the Tea Party movement are close to. During the campaign, she had to struggle with the assertion that she was not a real Christian because she had been brought up in the faith of the Sikhs.

Positions

Haley is an abortion opponent and rejects same-sex marriage. In addition, it is against health care reform Obamacare. Haley supports the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which allowed the right to wear and possession of weapons.
