Nikola Žigić (2008)

Nikola Žigić ( Serbian Cyrillic Никола Жигић, born September 25, 1980 in Bačka Topola, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Serbian football player and scorer of the Serbian national team.

Žigić is a Serbian football striker. During the 2006 World Cup in Germany he stormed Mateja Kezman next for the Serbian national team. He also played for the national team at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

He played from 1998 to 2002 in his hometown at AIK Bačka Topola, then came after several more stations in 2003 to Red Star Belgrade, and finally moved in 2006 to the Spanish side Racing Santander. In August 2007 he was transferred for a transfer fee of around 20 million euros to FC Valencia. In Valencia, he was unable to repeat his good times at Santander and was loaned by one and a half years in January 2009 back to Santander. There he found back to its former strength and scoring five goals in the first seven games. On 26 May 2010 it was announced that Nikola Žigić transferred for a fee of £ 6 million to Birmingham City. There he wrote until 2014.
