Nikolay Kasatkin
Nikolai Alexeyevich Kassatkin (Russian Николай Алексеевич Касаткин; * 13 Dezemberjul / December 25 1859greg in Moscow, .. † December 17, 1930 ) was a Russian painter.
Life
Kassatkin studied from 1873-1883 at Vasily Perov at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and taught there from 1894 until 1917. He was a member of the group of the Peredvizhniki (Russian hikers ), one in the second half of the 19th century Saint Petersburg incurred Artists Association. In 1922, he joined the " Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia" - to ( AchRR Assoziazija chudoshnikow Rewoljuzionnoi Rossii ).
He first painted genre pictures and then devoted himself to the life images of the laborers and miners of the Donets Basin, for example, Mate. It created works such as The draft animal in 1858; Mountain worker in 1894; Shift changes 1895). These works were written under the influence of some trips in the Donets Basin and the Urals, which he undertook in 1892 in the years up to 1897. In experiencing the revolution of 1905/1907, he created pictures of workers' struggles in 1905; Workers stormed a factory in 1906. With his works, he became a pioneer of style of Socialist Realism.
In the period from 1906 to 1910, he traveled to other European countries; these trips led him to Finland, Norway, Sweden, Italy and Turkey. After the October Revolution, Kassatkin involved in the cultural and social transformation of the country. He died in 1930 in Moscow.
