Nino is a male first name short for Giovanni ( in German: Johannes ) or Tonino and is originally from Italy. In southern Italy, it is also used as an abbreviation of Antonio or Antonino. In Germany, however, the name is also used as coming from Spanish: Niño is called in German "child" or " boy ".
