No Use for a Name

No Use for a Name or NUFAN was an American punk rock band that was founded in 1987 in Sunnyvale, California. In its beginnings, the songs were very much hardcore -heavy, while they were significantly more melodic from the 1990s. The longtime frontman Tony Sly died in the summer of 2012.

History

The group was founded in 1987. Two years later, got out several of the founding members and Tony Sly joined the band.

In 1990, she participated Let ' em Out! which was later released on the label New Red Archives released their first album called Incognito.

1992 rose Chris Dodge as a rhythm guitarist and the four of them also published on New Red Archives released their second album Do not Miss the Train (last hardcore album). Tony Sly died on 31 July 2012 at the age of 41 years of unspecified reasons.

After the show in honor of Sly on September 8, 2012 in Quebec City, Canada bassist Matt Riddle announced that this was the last show ever, and the band would dissolve.
