Norsjø

The Norsjø is a lake in the Norwegian county of Telemark. The name comes from altnorewgischen NOR, which means tight or narrow. The water level is at Skotfoss regulated by a dam.

Most of the rivers belonging to the river system Skiensvassdraget, collect in Norsjø, the outflow Skienselva opens in Skien in the Skagerrak. Among the tributaries of the Norsjø include Eidselva by Bandak, the Bøelva from Seljordsvatn and Sauarelva from Heddalsvatn.

The Norsjø is source of drinking water for the municipalities Skien and Nome.

The Norsjø makes up a central part of the Telemark Canal.
