North Burnett Region

Geography

The region is located southeast of the state about 250 km northeast of the capital Brisbane.

Administrative headquarters of the LGA is Gayndah with about 1800 inhabitants. History

Today's North Burnett region was founded in 2008 from the six Shires Biggenden, Eidsvold, Gayndah, Monto, Mundubbera and Perry.

Management

The North Burnett Regional Council has seven members. Six Councillor elected by the residents of the six divisions ( constituencies ). The Council President and Mayor ( Mayor ) is also elected by all residents of the region.
