Nostradameus

Nostradameus is a Swedish power metal band from Gothenburg, which was founded in 1998.

History

The band was founded on 12 May 1998 by guitarist Jake Fredén and singer and bassist Freddy Persson. A short time later met drummer Gustav Nahlin and guitarist Erik Söderman the band. Together they took on 5 and 6 December 1998, their first demo. In 1999, the band reached a deal with AFM Records. Then she went into the studio in December Gain Productions, their debut album Words of Nostradameus take. Five months later, the album was mixed by Mikko Karmila Studios in Finnvox. The album was released in 2000. Then Nahlin and Söderman left the band. In addition, Persson now decided to concentrate only on the vocals. Jesse Lindskog came as drummer, Michael Åberg on guitar and Thomas Antonsson as the new bassist for the band. In May 2001, the band went back to Gain Productions and recorded the album The Prophet of Evil, which was mixed again at Finnvox Studios by Mikko Karmila. The publication took place in August. In June Lindskog drummer was replaced by Esko Salow. After that, the band held appearances at the Wacken Open Air and the Göteborgskalaset in August. From November 2 to December 8 held the band together with Edguy a tour of Europe.

In the summer of 2002, work began on the third album called Third Prophecy in the Keg House Studio. In September, Fredrik Nordström mixed the album out in Studio Fredman. Following the publication in January 2003, the band went along with Hammerfall on a four-week European tour. After that, the band worked on the new album called Hellbound, which was recorded in the Roasting House in Malmö. In November and December 2003, it was produced by Anders Theander, mixed and mastered and released in the fall of 2004. In 2005, songs for the album pathway have been developed. The album was recorded at Roasting House on 15 May to September 2006 under the direction of Pontus Lindmark. During the recording guitarist Michael Åberg left the band. The solos on the album come from him, the other parts were played by Lennart Specht.

The album was released in January 2007. In the spring, followed by a tour with Jon Oliva 's Pain by Europe. The band also held in May a small tour through Romania. She then worked on a new album.

In 2009 published Nostradameus the album Illusion 's Parade.
