Nové Mesto nad Váhom
Nové Mesto nad Váhom ( German Town ( l) at the Waag, or weigh- Nove Mesto, Hungarian Vágújhely ) is a city in western Slovakia.
Geography
The city is located in the middle Považie (northern Danube hills ) about 20 kilometers north of Piešťany and as far south of Trenčín. Geographically the location is situated between the Little Carpathians in the west, the White Carpathians in the north- west and the Inowetz in the east.
History
The city was first mentioned in writing in 1253. It was a letter from the Hungarian King Béla IV, who thanked the city for the loyalty in the battles against the Mongols.

The town of Nové Mesto nad Váhom is located in the Slovak D1 motorway; through the city also leads the "old" state road 61 and the Czech town Veseli nad Moravou leading state road 54 Furthermore, it is located on the railway line Bratislava - Žilina; From here begins the railway line Nové Mesto nad Váhom - Veseli nad Moravou.
