Nuhu Ribadu

Mallam Nuhu Ribadu ( born November 21, 1960 in Yola, Nigeria ) in 2011 was presidential candidate in Nigeria. From 2002 to 2008 was highest state officials of Nigeria and held the first the office of Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC, German Commission for Economic and Financial Crime ).

Life

Ribadu began his training in 1980 with a degree in law at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, the second largest university in Nigeria. In 1983 he graduated with the academic degree Bachelor of Laws. It was followed by a post-graduate studies at the Nigerian Law School. From the Bar Association, he was admitted in 1984. Later, he obtained a Master of Laws degree from the Ahmadu Bello University also.

Nuhu Ribadu worked for 18 years at the Nigerian police. It was used in 2003 by President Olusegun Obasanjo as chairman of the EFCC. Because of his commitment to fight corruption, the international money laundering Commission on 23 June 2006 FATF removed Nigeria from the list of non- cooperative countries ( NCCT ). In May 2008, he was replaced by Farida Waziri in this office. Ribadu is a Senior Fellow of St Antony's College, University of Oxford. Since April 2009, Nuhu Ribadu is visiting fellow at the think tank Center for Global Development in Washington, DC.

Policy

Nuhu Ribadu was one of 19 candidates for the presidential elections in Nigeria in 2011. He steps for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN ) to. Together with the former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari and the first since last year 's ruling incumbent Goodluck Jonathan, he was one of my favorites. However, Ribadu won only one constituency directly.
