History

In Franzhausen there is a large urn- fields burial site, which counts with more than 400 tombs of the largest of its kind. The tombs range in time from the older urnfield times to the older Hallstatt period. In the middle of the cemetery was a central cremation ground. Since the burial ground had not been deprived of the stock of salvaged artefacts is very rich. It found, inter alia, to an ornate bronze cup, a bronze bowl, numerous meat knife, in the men's graves usually a razor, wire brooches, pendants and rings.
