Nyandomsky District

The Njandomski rayon (Russian Няндомский муниципальный район / Njandomski munizipalny rayon ) is an administrative unit within the Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia. It is located south of the Oblasthauptstadt Arkhangelsk. The administrative center is the city Nyandoma.

Geography

The Njandomski rayon is located in the southwestern part of the Arkhangelsk Oblast. To the west of the Kargopolski Rajon rajon borders, north of Plessezki rayon, east of Schenkurski rayon, southeast of Welski rayon and south of Konoschski rayon. The area of ​​8050 km ² is Rajon.

History

The Njandomski rajon was on 15 July 1929 as part of the newly created Njandomski krai ( Няндомский округ ), the Northern Krai ( Северный край ) was founded.
