Odo II, Duke of Burgundy

Odo II ( Eudes II French, probably * 1118, † September 27, 1162 ) was Duke of Burgundy from 1143 to 1162; He was the son of the Duke Hugh II and Matilda of Mayenne.

On the accession of King Louis VII in 1137 he refused this fealty, but was obliged by Pope Adrian IV to it. 1147 he took part in the Siege of Lisbon in favor of his cousin Alfonso I of Portugal. He was still a predatory ruler and had to compete for his offense a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, where he died. He was buried in Citeaux Abbey.
