Official World Golf Ranking
The golf world rankings is the world rankings in golf. First leader of the imported 1986, Mr. World Ranking (English Official World Golf Rankings - OWGR ) was Bernhard Langer from Anhausen. Instantaneous leader is Tiger Woods from the U.S.. Precursor of Golf World Ranking was introduced in 1968 Mark McCormack 's world golf rankings.
2006 (official Rolex Rankings ) also a world ranking for women introduced, cited by 2013 Inbee Park from South Korea since April 15 with the Women's World Golf Rankings.
Calculation
The basis for the calculation of the points the results at the events of the six leading professional tournament series ( International Federation of PGA Tours). The value of a tournament depends on who took part 30 of the ranking of the corresponding home tour in the tournament which players in the Top 200 in the world rankings and which top. The sum of the Home Tour Event Rating Values is limited to a maximum of 75 % of the total World Event Rating Values.

For the calculation of the world ranking of a player in the past 104 weeks (2 years ) earned world ranking points are weighted and added. The weighting is carried out in two periods. The first period lasts 13 weeks. For this most recent period, the points are simply weighted. The points from the tournaments that are returned are longer reduced from week to week to 1/92. Thus, a tournament that took place 14 weeks is given a weight of 91 /92 ( 0.9891 ) and a tournament that was played 104 weeks ago, only 1/92 ( 0.0109 ).
The sum thus calculated points will be divided by the number of games played in the past 2 years Tournaments - but at least by 40 and at most by 52 more tournaments should have been played during this period, only the current 52 tournaments are taken into account. The results are the average points of a player and determine its World Ranking.
Importance
The first 50 in the world rankings will receive an automatic start authorization for the U.S. Masters, the U.S. Open, the Open Championship and for the tournaments of the World Golf Championships ( WGC - Accenture are at the Match Play Championship the first 64 qualified). At the PGA Championship, the first 100 in the world rankings will be invited.
Precursor
