ÅŒita Prefecture

The Oita Prefecture (Japanese大分 県, Oita - ken) is a prefecture of Japan. It is located in the region of Kyushu on the island of Kyushu. Seat of the prefectural government is the city of Oita.

Governor of Oita is Katsusada Hirose, which was confirmed at the single regional elections in April 2011 for a third term. In the concurrent parliamentary elections, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP ) with 18 of the 44 seats clearly was the strongest party, but later spread along with non-party to two fractions. At times, therefore, was the democratically - oriented social democratic faction Kenmin Club ( " Prefecture of Citizens Club " ) strongest force.
