Okrouhlá Radouň

Okrouhlá Radouň ( German slices Radaun ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic with about 200 inhabitants. It is located twelve kilometers north of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Okrouhlá Radouň is located in the southern part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands in the valley of Radouňský creek. North of the village rises the 596 m high Kubalov.

Neighboring towns are Horni Radouň in the north, Dívčí Kopy and Hadravova Rosička in the northeast, Karlov and Nová Včelnice in the east, in the southeast Lovětín, Kostelní Radouň in the south and Najdek in the West.

History

First records the village as a villa Raduny in 1389th

1782 320 people lived in the village. In the 1820s, mining began to limonite, which was first processed in Chlum u Třeboně and later in Kamenice nad Lipou. On August 5, 1839, the place was flooded after a three-hour storm cast and the fish ponds running down. 1860 had slices Radaun 544 inhabitants. In 1896, the volunteer fire department founded.

In Okrouhlá Radouň, as well as in the neighboring towns and Lodhéřov Najdek, lived predominantly German -speaking residents. Fueled by the ideas Henlein it came in place in 1938 to the nationality conflicts. To November 1, 1940 slices Radaun was reclassified along with churches Radaun in the district Kamnitz in Linde.

After the dissolution of okres Kamenice nad Lipou the place came on 1 July 1960 Okres Jindřichův Hradec. In the same year the merger of Okrouhlá Radouň and Stary Bozdechov with Horni Radouň was. 1981 Okrouhlá Radouň received its own local committee again.

Today mining activity on Králův vrch south-east of the village. The pit at Kublov is shut down.
