Olaf Thörsen
Olaf Thorsen, Olaf Thörsen, ( born September 27, 1971 in Viareggio ( Italy), Carlo Andrea Magnani ) is a metal guitarist.
Life
With the guitar-playing, he started at the age of almost 20 years. After an investigation begun studying modern foreign languages , he moved, however, soon to study music in Milan and Florence. His first song he wrote in 1991 with Salem. His first band was Labyrinth, which was founded in 1991. His current band Vision Divine, in which he plays guitar since its founding in 1999. There also Fabio Lione, his former bandmate of labyrinth as a singer operates. He left labyrinth in 2001 to fully concentrate on his band Vision Divine, which was originally planned as a solo project. In autumn 2009, a reunion of Olaf Thorsen was announced with labyrinth. 2010 came the new joint album "Return to Heaven Denied 2 " out. It was followed by a European tour as guests of Sonata Arctica, the 2011 took place from February to late March and took him to Germany. He also played on 5 July 2010 as the opening act for Ozzy Osbourne and on August 17, 2010 Iron Maiden. For the latter, he should act as support on the Sonisphere Festival in summer 2011.
Currently, a new album for Vision Divine, which the band will finish in May 2012. For the May 1, 2012 Olaf Thorsen was able to realize a long-cherished dream and is under the slogan "Italy 's got voices" together with his friends and band mates Fabio Lione ( Vision Divine / Rhapsody of Fire), Roberto Tiranti ( Labyrinth ) and Morby ( Domine ) stand on stage.
As a favorite song he gives to Painkiller by Judas Priest. Olaf's endorser since summer 2010 Ibanez Guitars and Amplifiers Engl. In " Brazen Guitars" (Los Angeles ), he has his own guitar line "Fantasy Thorsen ".
He lives with his family in Massa (Tuscany)
