Old Town Eureka

Old Town Eureka is a Historic District in Eureka, California.

The historic, 350 acre area is located on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Street between "C" and "M" Street. Most of the houses date from the Victorian era. In the former Bank of Eureka, which was built in 1911 in the Renaissance Revival, located since 1960, the Clarke Memorial Museum, which contains a large collection of Native American basketry from the region and sovereign regalia and other artifacts of the Hoopa, Yurok Karok and the. The most famous Contributing Property, which lies to the east outside of the actual Old Town, which is in the Queen Anne style built Carson Mansion. It is considered one of the most photographed and best-preserved Victorian buildings in California

Since 30 November 1950, the district is registered by the Park Authority of the State as California Historical Landmark. On October 15, 1991 Old Town Eureka was recorded with 154 Contributing Properties in the National Register of Historic Places.
