Olena Khomrova

Olena Mykolajiwna Chomrowa (Ukrainian Олена Миколаївна Хомрова; born May 16, 1987 in Mykolaiv ) is a Ukrainian saber fencer and Olympic champion.

Their first international medal winning Chomrowa at the European Championships in 2005, when she won the bronze medal with the team. At the 2006 World Fencing Championships she reached the 16th place in the individual standings. In 2007 she won with the team both European Championship and World Championship silver - silver behind the Frenchwomen. At the European Championships she also won a bronze medal in singles.

At the European Championships in 2008 they defeated the team in the final against the Poles. A month later at the Olympic Games in Beijing, she finished eighth in the individual standings in the team competition won Olha Charlan, Olha Schownir, Halyna Pundyk and Olena Chomrowa the gold medal with a final victory over the Chinese.

2009 erfochten the Ukrainian saber fencers two gold medals in the team competition: At the European Championships they won in the final against the Russians and in the World Championships against the Frenchwoman; in the individual standings Chomrowa occupied the seventh place in the World Cup. 2010 defended the Ukrainians their European Championship title successfully, again the Russians were their final opponents. At the World Championships in Paris Chomrowa erfocht a bronze medal in singles.
