2007 World Fencing Championships
The World Fencing Championships 2007 took place from 28 September to 7 October 2007 in the Russian city of St. Petersburg. The World Congress of the International Fencing Federation awarded the event during its meeting on November 12, 2005 in Doha. The candidacy of St. Petersburg sat down with 52:40 by votes against the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.
Russia was for the second time hosted the World Fencing Championships. Previously, only Moscow in 1966 was the venue of the event.
