Nicolas Lopez (fencer)

Nicolas Lopez ( born November 14, 1980 in Tarbes ) is a French saber fencer, Olympic gold medalist and world champion.

Achievements

Nicolas Lopez won the 1999 World Junior Championships in Keszthely with the French saber team. In 2001, he won the European Championship in Koblenz silver with the team. In 2005 he got his first international medal in singles, bronze at the European Championships in Zalaegerszeg, at the World Championships in Leipzig, he won the bronze medal with the team. In 2006 he was in Turin team world champion along with Julien Pillet, Boris Sanson and Vincent Anstett. In 2007, he brought with the team at the World Championships in St. Petersburg, silver and bronze at the European Championships in Ghent. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 Lopez won gold with the same team as the 2006 World Cup and erfocht silver in singles, only defeated by the Chinese Zhong Man. In 2009 he erfocht with the team at the European Championships in Plovdiv bronze.
