Marco Marin

Marco Marin ( born July 4, 1963 in Padua ) is an Italian saber fencer, Olympic gold medalist and world champion.

Achievements

Marco Marin won the Italian saber team at the World Championships 1982 in Rome silver behind Hungary, in 1983 in Vienna bronze.

At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles he erfocht gold with the team and was awarded silver in the singles, he lost only the Frenchman Jean -François Lamour. At the 1988 Seoul Olympics bronze Marin was with the team in individual he reached the fourteenth place. At the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, he won silver in the individual, this time beaten by Hungary Bence Szabó. With the team, it was the eighth place.

At the World Championships in Essen, he won the team silver, again beaten only by the Hungarian team in 1995 in The Hague, he was Team World Champion.
