Professional career beginning in Tirol

His active career as a professional soccer player began Schnellrieder in 1989 with the WSG Swarovski Wattens, after he is in season with the club from the third-tier Regionalliga West, moved up to the second- highest division of the country, the then second division 1988/89. So Schnellrieder came during the 1989/90 season to 17 professional appearances for the Wattner.

His professional debut was here on July 22, 1989 in a 2-1 home win in the first round of the Donawitzer SV Alpine, where he stood the entire game on the court. During the winter break of the 1989/90 season he was transferred to FC Swarovski Tirol due to good performance, which at this time next season on in the then 1st Division, the top division of Austria had. Only shortly after the new start of the football operation in the spring Schnellrieder announced on February 24, 1990 in a 5-2 home win against FK Austria Wien his debut in Austria's highest football league. During the rest of the season he came to a further two missions, where he had to leave the place in the last mission on 17 March 1990 after only 46 minutes of playing time after he was shown the yellow card by the referee.

Nevertheless, he was at the end of the season with the Tyrolean Association of Austrian football champions, which in the second division was his biggest success after the rise with the WSG Swarovski Wattens. In the following season, Schnellrieder could not integrate into the team of FC Swarovski Tirol, which meant that he had to brief missions with one exception, when he stood the entire game on the lawn, came only. In the end he was Austrian Vice Champion with the team behind the FK Austria Wien.

The beginning of the ( almost ) eternal runner-up

Even during the summer break before the season 1991/92 Schnellrieder was awarded to the Ascended just now from the West Regional SC Rheindorf Altach in the 2nd Division. He came in 33 out of 36 possible gewesenen league games for use, scoring two goals. As in the past Quick Rieder's hard tackles by the referees this season was punished with some Yellow Cards, eleven piece, and a second yellow card and it was this season. In the end, he finished with the SC Rheindorf Altach the seventh of eight places in the relegation play-off and had to with the team after just one season as a professional back in the Regionalliga West dismount.

In the 1992/93 season the team failed promotion to the second division and was behind FC Kufstein runner-up of the Regional League West, but the team won the Vorarlberg Football Cup for the third time in club history after 1986/87 and 1987 / 88th Right after that ended quick Rieder's loan agreement with the people of Vorarlberg, after which he signed a contract with the ordinary player Altachern. As in the previous season, the first team of the SC Rheindorf Altach in the season 1993/94 runners-up of the Regional League West. This time, the team had to, even though they had received the fewest goals of the entire RL West, defeated the SC Austria Lustenau.

Short stopover: FC Hard

1994/95 still in Altach, Schnellrieder changed for the 1995/96 season to the nearby Hard to FC Hard, whose first team was now called in the previous season runner-up. While Quick Rieder commitment the team managed only fourth place and thus a place in mid-table. Right after this season, the then 26 -year-old returned to his real club and managed in the season 1996/97 prompt again move up to the second- highest division of the country, which at that time still under the name " 2 Division " was held.

Improve performance of the Altachern

But Quick Rieder times but stay in professional football should not take long, because even at the end of the season 1997/98 after 23 missions and two goals he had with the team to re- descent compete in the third division. Worth mentioning here is that the team, though it was the end on the tenth of 15 seats, had to descend. This was due to the reformation of the league system and the introduction of a ten- league from the 1998 /99.

1998/99 reached the team in the RL West with 65 points to second place behind the WSG Swarovski Wattens, which advanced with 76 points and over 100 hits achieved in the, under the new name "First Division " ongoing, second highest league in Austria. A similar picture is from the 1999/2000 season, as the Altacher team with 68 points and five points distance to the champions FC Lustenau 07, one more time "only" was runner-up.

In the following season 2000/ 01 Schnellrieder was with his team behind FC Lustenau 07 which in the relegation games for the second-class First Division with a total score of 1:6 failed in the preseason at the SV Mattersburg, for the umpteenth time runners- RL West. Also in the Vorarlberg Cup he came with his team only up to second place and was in the local finals, as already defeated in the championship of football club from Lustenau.

The performance of the entire team eased into the season 2001 /02, it was at the end behind the FC Hard and the WSG Swarovski Wattens occupies only the third place. The only success this season was winning the Vorarlberg Cup, which was secured with a 3-0 victory over SV Ludesch in the final.

The 2002/03 season was the team seen sporting very good, because after a 2-0 victory over SC Admira Dornbirn in Vorarlberg's Cup final, managed the team in the championship to achieve 108 goals. This was achieved by seven goals more than the master, the SPG WSG Wattens / FC Wacker Tirol, but with 12 -point lead and a much better goal difference almost uncatchable won the championship.

In 2004 it was time again. After years in the highest amateur class of the country, the team managed to re- promotion to the second highest league in Austria, which was played from the same year under the new name First League. But this time the SC Rheindorf Altach should stay longer than just one season in the professional sector. Schnellrieder, who scored a hit this season at 32 completed championship matches, acted, very strong in the tackle and in his career so far. Twelve yellow and show a yellow card from the nasty of the now 34 -year-old defender. At the end of the season 2004/ 05 was achieved with the sixth one place in mid-table. Furthermore Schnellrieder was elected in the state of Vorarlberg Footballer of the Year, which simultaneously marked the biggest individual success of his career.

Good performances were also brought into the following season 2005/ 06 in 31 league games played, scored three goals in the Schnellrieder. The team still has named in the penultimate round of the season after a 1-0 victory over SC Austria Lustenau in Vorarlberg Derby for the first time in club history to master the second highest Austrian league. This was associated with the rise in the Austrian Football Bundesliga.

During the 2006/07 season Schnellrieder completed 33 Bundesliga appearances, scoring two goals. His first Bundesliga goal he scored it in the first round at the 2:3 home defeat against FC Superfund Pasching, the second at the first point won in the fifth round with a 4-1 home win against SK Sturm Graz. After the team with the eighth place in the league and managed Schnellrieder had now reached the age of 37 his career goal, it already looked forward to a career end.

Career finale in Lustenau ...

For the summer break before the 2007/ 08 season Schnellrieder changed after 17 years at SC Rheindorf Altach, in which he appeared for a time as team captain, the former league rivals SC Austria Lustenau in the second-class First League.
