Omereque

Omereque is a town in the Cochabamba Department in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Omereque is the central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Omereque in the province Campero. The village lies at an altitude of 1583 m at the mouth of Huanacuni Chico on the left the eastern shore of the Río Mizque.

Geography

Omereque lies between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Central. The climate is characterized by a typical diurnal climate, in which the temperature fluctuations between day and night is greater than between seasons.

Omereque lies at a distance of 248 kilometers of road southeast of Cochabamba, the capital of the department.

From Cochabamba the paved highway Ruta 7 results in a southeasterly direction 44 miles to Paracaya, from there the highway Ruta 23 to 146 kilometers further to the southeast across Punata, Arani and Mizque after Aiquile. Four kilometers from Aiquile bends the highway Ruta 5 from east toward Saipina and situated 55 kilometers along the rivers Quebrada Huerla. From here, eleven kilometers long street along the Río Mizque north to Omereque.
