Omid Djalili

Omid Djalili (Persian امید جلیلی, born September 30, 1965 at Chelsea, London, United Kingdom) is a British actor and comedian of Iranian origin.

Life

Djalili, the son of an Iranian reporter and a British fashion designer, has already started to work as a comedian at an early age. Nevertheless, he studied at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland Coleraine and received his diploma in English and theater.

Since 1992, Omid Djalili is married and has three children with his wife Annabel. He grew up in an Iranian Baha'i family and continues today as a Bahai for a lively cultural coexistence of religions.

Career

According to information from Iran's only stand-up comedian, he understands it well, Islam and himself (he is of the body rather short and stocky stature ) to satirize. He is one of the few British comedians who are very much in demand internationally. So his tour went through countries such as Australia, Ireland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and the United States.

He won many awards, including the 1997 conferred LWT Comedy Award for Best Stand- Up program.

Djalili is also active as an actor and has been in many movies embodies most southern and, thanks to his talent, humorous characters.

In 2007, he was shooting for the BBC One comedy show, The Omid Djalili Show and 2009 sequel, The Omid Djalili Show - Series 2

On 20 July 2009 Djalili took over the role of Fagin in London's new production of Hitmusicals " Oliver! " By his colleague Rowan Atkinson and was seen there by December 12, 2009 Monday to Saturday. Published in the end of October 2009 video game Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony synchronized Djalili the role of Yusuf Amir.
