Ondřej Moravec

Ondřej Moravec ( born June 9, 1984 in Ústí nad Orlicí ) is a Czech biathlete.

Ondřej Moravec from SKP Jablonec began in 1999 with the sport of biathlon. Since 2004, coached by Vlastimil Vavra Letohrader gym teacher part of the Czech national squad. In 2001 he started for the first time without major success at the Junior World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk. Where the following year he won in Ridnaun silver in the relay and bronze in the sprint and pursuit. At the European Championships in Kontiolahti in the same year a tenth place in the sprint was the best result. It was followed by four stakes in the European Cup. The last two, in 2003 Forni Avoltri, he finished fifth in the sprint and third in the pursuit. Due to the good results he moved on to the World Cup and was the debut in Ruhpolding 56th in the sprint. At the Junior World Championships 2003 in Kościelisko he finished third in the individual, persecution, and with the season and missed fourth in the sprint only about a fourth medal.

In 2003, he started a second time successfully in Forni Avoltri, this time at the European Championships. Here he won the singles title and the season. In 2004, he started a second time at junior world championships in Haute Maurienne and won silver in the relay. The European Championships in Minsk were very successful again. Moravec won gold in the sprint and in the pursuit and was fourth in singles and fifth in the relay. At the start of the 2004/05 season Moravec won a sprint and pursuit in Obertilliach. He qualified again for the World Cup. There he was able to gather in Ruhpolding than 29 in the sprint and 24th in the pursuit of first biathlon World Cup points. The season he finished at the European Championships in Novosibirsk, where he won gold in the pursuit and silver in the sprint and fourth just short of further precious metal in individual and team competition was over.

The following season, he began again, and the last time in the European Cup in Langsdorf. He won here in both the sprint and the pursuit. In his last Junior World Championships in Kontiolahti he still won one silver in singles. Since the season 2005/ 06 Moravec starts only on the World Cup. Several times he ran into the points. In Oberhof he could be with the Czech Fourth Season. His best-ever ranking is a 4th place in the Sprint 2008 in Khanty-Mansiysk.

High point in the career of athletes has been the participation in the 2006 Olympics in Turin. Here he joined in the sprint ( 34 ) and in the pursuit of ( 41 ) and was sixth in the relay. The following European Championships in Langsdorf gave unsatisfactory for Moravec. The Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Antholtz were his first Biathlon World Championships. He went without any major successes in sprint ( 56 ) and persecution ( 49 ). One success was the eighth place with the Czech Mixed Relay. Moravec took part in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. His best result was the 67th place in the sprint. At the World Cup pursuit race 2012 in Pokljuka he could reach his first placement on the podium of a World Cup race with second place.

Ondřej Moravec also operates summer biathlon. In 2004 he was.
