Orhangazi

Orhangazi is a town and a district in northwestern Turkey in the province of Bursa. It is located on Izniksee ( Iznik Gölü ), on the main street of Yalova after Gemlik. The place has been inhabited for about 6,000 years. On the banks of Izniksees can visit a prehistoric fishing village.
The mountains between Orhangazi and Gemlik are characterized by extensive loss of white marble.
The namesake of Orhan Gazi I. ( 1335) was Sultan of the Ottoman Empire in Bursa. At the entrance of Orhangazi a monument to him was erected.
