Cladistics

In cladistics, the genus Orthetrum is compared with the genus Libellula within the Libellulinae all other genera of this subfamily. For the subfamilies of sailing dragonflies there is currently no study that allows a dichotomous representation of the phylogeny, the Libellulinae can be according to current research that is not clearly a different subfamily as a sister group to face.
