Osiecko, Opole Voivodeship

Oschietzko (Polish: Osiecko ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Oschietzko is located in the rural community Zembowitz ( Zębowice ) in Oleski powiat ( district of Rosenberg OS) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Oschietzko located four kilometers northeast of the municipal center Zembowitz eleven kilometers south of the county town of Olesno (Rosenberg OS) and 35 kilometers east of the voivodship Opole.

Neighboring towns of Oschietzko are in the south Poscholkau ( Poczołków ) and free Kadlub ( Kadlúb Wolny ) and in the southwest Schiedlisk ( Siedliska ) and Pruskau ( Prusków ).

History

1783 was the place that was then written Osßiezko and belonged to the Lord of Ziemietzky, a stately Vorwerk, four farmers, gardeners and eight 119 inhabitants. 1865 was the site of the parish after Zembowitz and enrolled after free Kadlub.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 voted 65 voters to remain in Germany and 54 for the membership of Poland. Oschietzko remained with the German Reich. In 1925 the town had 208 inhabitants. 1933 lived 152 inhabitants in the village. On April 27, 1936, the town was renamed in Lichtenrode. On April 1, 1939 Lichtenrode was incorporated into free farms. By 1945, the place was in the district of Rosenberg OS

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and the Silesian Voivodeship was connected and renamed Osiecko. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship and since 1999 he is part of the re-established powiat Oleski. On 23 October 2007, the German Oschietzko was in the community Zembowitz, plays, introduced as a second official language. On 19 November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Oschietzko.
