Pachuca de Soto is a municipality in the Mexican state of Hidalgo. It is part of the metropolitan area Pachuca City. The seat of the municipality is the same Pachuca de Soto, who is also the capital of the central Mexican state. The community had in 2010 267.862 inhabitants, its surface area is 154.5 km ².

Location

The municipality of Pachuca de Soto is located in the south of the center of the state of Hidalgo, about 100 km north-east of Mexico City. It borders the Municipalities Mineral del Chico, Mineral del Monte, Zempoala, Zapotlán de Juárez, Mineral de la Reforma and San Agustín Tlaxiaca.

Cities

By far, the biggest town of the Municipalities is the capital of Pachuca de Soto. In addition to Pachuca de Soto, four more places with more than 1,000 inhabitants and about 30 smaller towns are still in the municipality.
