Palatia jazz

Palatia jazz concert is a series of events that take place throughout the Palatinate from May to late August. These are organized by the SYM GmbH, Agency for Marketing, Public Relations & Events.

It is jazz concerts throughout the full spectrum of contemporary jazz genres. Since 1997, annual international jazz stars and upcoming artists will be invited to the festival. Throughout the period will be held 13-18 concerts, the Air event at the historic sites of the Palatinate are almost all designed as open. The 2007 first introduced presentation next generation of further integrating the goal of younger German jazz musicians in the preliminary program.

The concert series has become known far beyond the borders of the region and is held every year more than 10,000 visitors.

History

The concert series was initiated in 1999, first along the German Wine Route. From the beginning, a combination of sophisticated, entertaining jazz with the Palatine kitchen was decisive for the events. Over time, the concert series expanded to the entire Palatinate with up to 12 local authorities, so that today Venues of Kusel and Pirmasens in the West are to Frankenthal and Speyer in the East involved in the program.

Originally the music festival in 1997 and 1998 took place in Bad Durkheim under the name " Jazzette - Deidesheimer Jazz Days". Since 1999, the event is far palatinate under the name " palatia jazz - the wine and culinary Palatinate Jazz Festival " will be created. The founder is Suzette Yvonne Moissl.

In the past concert series a number of known jazz musician was a guest, such as: Manu Katché, David Sanborn, Incognito, Tab Two, Klaus Doldinger, Paul Kuhn Trio, Jasper van't Hof, Nils Landgren, Al Di Meola, Joo Kraus, De Phazz, Jazzkantine, Barbara Hendricks, Cornelius Claudio Kreusch, Till Bronner, Nigel Kennedy, Quadro Nuevo, Chick Corea, NoJazz, Joachim Kühn, Maria Joao, Tania Maria, Branford Marsalis, Cassandra Wilson, Joshua Redman, Silje Nergaard, Peter herbolzheimer, Albert Mangelsdorff, Mal Waldron, Joe Zawinul and Herbie Mann.
