Course of Paljawaam

The Paljawaam (Russian Паляваам ) is a river in the Chukchi Autonomous District in northeast Siberia.

It has its origin in the highlands of Chukotka. From there it flows in a westerly direction through a low populated area of the Siberian tundra to Tschaunbucht and East Siberian Sea. Before reaching the bay meets the largest tributary, the Elchkakwun, from the left on the river. The coming of the south Tschaun forms with the Paljawaam a common estuary area in which unite the river arms and disconnect. The Paljawaam has a length of 416 km and drains an area of 12,900 km ².
