The Pappelstadion is an Austrian football stadium in Burgenland Mattersburg. It is the home ground of Bundesliga club SV Mattersburg and holds a total of 15,700 spectators, of which 5,700 seats.

History

The Mattersburger poplar stadium was opened in 1952 as part of the celebrations for the 30 -year anniversary of the association. At that major event, the Austrian record champions SK Rapid Wien is loaded, the won the 7,000 spectators packed out stadium despite slow playing style befitting 9:3.

From June to July 2007, the grandstand was rebuilt, with the capacity of seats was increased to make the Pappelstadion for European Cup games compatible. Since then, the total capacity of the stadium to 15,700 seats limited.
